What is your philosophy when treating injured workers?
Provide quick access to specialized care through orthopaedic walk-in clinics, Treat conservatively, and Focus on returning to work as quickly and safely as possible. Light duty when available and to assist in continuity of care by providing medical records and DWC-25s to case managers as quickly as possible.

Working under stressful conditions and Dealing with staff shortages and increased workloads.
How are you ensuring there is no disruption in care for patients through this pandemic?
We offer telemedicine services and convenient options to access care. Increasing staff levels to assist with the elevated workload.
Why and How did the practice start?
Orlando Orthopaedic Center was founded in 1972 by 2 Orlando orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Mumby and Dr. Shea. The practice started with one office downtown and has now grown to over 40 providers and 10 offices. We are celebrating our 50th year in business this year.
What strategies do you use to make sure you clearly communicate your message to everyone involved?
Ensure that all forms and communication are sent out timely and accurately to those who are in need of the information. Ensure that treatment and any tests/procedures are scheduled promptly and timely to ensure quick diagnosis and return to work. Obtain authorizations as indicated to make sure everyone is on the same page with the treatment plan.
What is the best way to reach you and your staff?
OOC has dedicated staff and email/phone access to employees who handle worker comp questions and appointments. All OOC physicians have dedicated teams/staff to handle calls and inquiries to assist with coordinating care and addressing any questions or concerns from adjusters/case managers.
