An Ode to Winter

Written by Samantha Diaz

The days grow shorter and the nights longer as winter approaches. During the winter, we have time to set intentions that manifest into greater peace, love, and happiness. The holidays are a time to celebrate simple pleasures with family and friends when we can reflect and be grateful for what the year has brought us.

Hibernation and turning inwards are big themes for the winter. We focus on setting intentions for the next season and how to gear up for success. If we view nature objectively, as the leaves have died and are waiting to be reborn, as animals hibernate or sleep through winter months—it is a period of rest during which all living things rejuvenate themselves.

During this time, we also have more time for self-care. This is the optimal time to take naps, do some extra beauty routines and journal your heart out—all activities that will increase our energy flow as we shift from seasons. The ritual of Winter is a celebration that connects us to nature and allows us to reflect on the past while looking forward.
